NEW YORK – Guggenheim Securities, the investment banking and capital markets division of Guggenheim Partners (“Guggenheim”), today announced the appointment of Richard E. Gormley as Senior Managing Director, Head of Equity and Equity-linked Finance, with responsibility for leading the traditional and alternative capital markets businesses. Mr. Gormley is joined by James Lee, Managing Director, and Michael Jiang, Associate, as part of the expansion of Guggenheim’s corporate finance practice.

Mr. Gormley has nearly 30 years of experience in the investment banking and capital markets industry, having completed $20 billion of public and private financing transactions across a variety of industries and securities structures. Most recently, he was a Vice Chairman of Lazard Frères, where he led the firm’s prolific Alternative Capital Finance business. Prior to Lazard, he was a Managing Director and held senior leadership positions in the capital markets businesses of Cowen and Company and Rabobank International. Mr. Gormley began his career in the corporate finance groups at Citibank and Nesbitt Burns Securities (and its predecessor companies, including Security Pacific/Burns Frey).
