NEW YORK – Guggenheim Securities, the investment banking and capital markets division of Guggenheim Partners, announced today that Andrew “Drew” Marcus has joined the firm as a Senior Advisor. Mr. Marcus’ addition expands the breadth and depth of Guggenheim Securities’ client franchise in Technology, Media, and Telecommunications.
For more than 30 years, Mr. Marcus has focused on media and technology in a variety of roles including analyst, banker, portfolio manager, and venture capitalist. He joins Guggenheim Securities after last serving as Portfolio Manager and Managing Partner of SLRC Media Opportunities Fund. Prior to that role, he was Vice Chairman of Global Banking at Deutsche Bank, focusing on media and telecommunications. At Deutsche Bank, Mr. Marcus was also a Managing Director, Global Head of Media Research and Senior Media Analyst. Additionally, he was a founder of the Media Group at Alex. Brown Inc.
As an analyst, Mr. Marcus covered broadcasting, outdoor, entertainment, and publishing sectors. He was the number one ranked Broadcasting Analyst in surveys conducted by Institutional Investor and The Wall Street Journal. In addition, Mr. Marcus was an eight-time Institutional Investor “All American” and a six-time The Wall Street Journal "Master Stock Picker.”

Mr. Marcus currently serves as a Venture Partner at Walden Venture Capital. He also serves on the Economic Leadership Council at the University of Michigan. He graduated from the University of Michigan with an A.B. in Economics and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. Mr. Marcus is based in Guggenheim’s New York office.
